DTN COMMENTS: The country is quiet this morning following yesterday's active
business. Best guesses are that around 40,000-45,000 head traded in both
Nebraska and Kansas, but Texas only moved around 20,000 head. Dressed deals
in the North ranged from 152.00-154.00, mostly 153.00. Live business in
Kansas was mostly 97.00-97.50, and Texas deals were marked at 97.00-98.00.
While we may see a little more trade in Texas and some cleanup deals
elsewhere today, its looking like business is pretty much done for the week.
Asking prices on the few cattle left on lists are around 98+ in the South,
and 154+ in the North. Beef cutouts are expected to be steady/weak, with
light to moderate box movement.
TERMINALS: STEERS HEIFERS COWS BULLS
